OVERVIEW
Who says a compact pickup can’t slug it out with the big boys? Normally they can’t – but the 2007 Ford Ranger is not your typical compact pickup truck. Rugged to the core and versatile enough to meet the demands of the work hard/play hard frame of mind. The Ranger is an everyday truck that offers reliable and formidable engines, significant towing and payload capabilities and ample cargo space. The fact still remains that the Ford Ranger is the best-selling compact truck in the world* and its Built Ford Tough.
Exterior.
The Ranger’s two-piece front bumper design – combined with the front grille-to-bumper alignment changes and new fog lamps – gives the truck a cleaner, meaner look. The bold design continues with new tail lights, new tailgate badging with an extra-large Ford oval, and a revised bumper with new paint finish. The overhaul is completed by revised side marker lamps and the new Ranger logo graphic on the windshield.
Tunes.
The Ranger comes standard with an AM/FM stereo with single-disc CD player* or – in the case of the FX4/Level II – an AM/FM stereo with single-disc CD/MP3 and cassette player. The interior features a clean layout with a Rally-style instrument cluster and controls.
Suspension.
The heavy duty suspension system on the Ranger helps ensure that it displays excellent road manners – loaded or unloaded and over any kind of surface. For the ultimate in ''off-road-ability'', the FX4/Level II comes equipped with a Torsen® limited-slip rear axle, Blistein® shock absorbers and BF Goodrich® 31x10.50 T/A® KO tires.
Safety Features.
Standard second-generation front air bags help protect the driver and passenger in the event of certain collisions. The system includes a passenger air bag deactivation switch to help prevent air bag-related injuries to children riding in child seats in the front passenger position.
